School service owner shot dead in QC

Manila - A school service operator died and his assistant was injured in a predawn ambush in Quezon City on Tuesday.

Police said Joel Lumabang, owner of several school service vehicles, and his assistant Leo Cortez wereon board a school service when ambushed by a lone gunman at the corner of Katipunan Avenue and Rajah Matanda street.

The two were about to fetch some students of an exclusive school in Quezon City when the shooting happened.

Police said that according to the witnesses, the gunman, who was wearing a helmet, casually walked away from the school service after shooting at Lumapang and Cortez.

Lumapang died at the hospital due to 11 gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. Cortez survived the incident with a gunshot wound in the thigh.

Police are looking at business rivalry as the possible motive for the killing. With a report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
